The Prince William County Department of Economic Development (PWCDED) will sponsor and exhibit at the 42nd Annual Modern Day Marine event this week in Washington, D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
If you want to work with the Marine Corps, then PWCDED would like to work with you. As a fixture at this event since 2010, PWCDED looks forward to investing in business attraction opportunities for government contracting and defense-oriented companies.
Home to Marine Corps Base Quantico and the National Museum of the Marine Corps, with more than 42,000 veterans from all service branches living here, Prince William County is also the doorway to the government contracting corridor leading north along I-95 to Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, and the Nation's Capital.
The 10th most diverse county in the nation is also a careful steward of our active duty, retired, and civilian communities who work with the Marine Corps and all government entities. We work to provide consistent support, not only of our military, but also those members’ families.

This event will be the largest gathering in-person ever for Modern Day Marine. Held online for the last two years, the previous events were held on Quantico. The team is looking forward to forging new relationships, and rebuilding relationships paused during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to the Marine Corps, several Prince William County businesses will be at Modern Day Marine this year, including
- AimPoint
- Logistech
- NAL Research
- NCS Technologies
- Sev1 Technologies
- Survice Engineering Company
Attendees can visit the PWCDED booth at #1372 located at the end of Iwo Jima aisle, past the Marine Zone. Stop by the booth for a complimentary cookie and a conversation.
Each service branch honors faithful service with a version of the Good Conduct Medal, one of the oldest military awards of the United States Armed Forces. In the Marines, this medal, often referred to as a “good cookie,” is earned after three years of faithful service.
If you grab a cookie, you will be entered into a chance to win a gift card from the Prince Willam bakery Cakes by Happy Eatery. Drop a business card with booth staff to be entered in our giveaway of a pair of AirPods Pro, which will be drawn on Thursday at 1 p.m.
