Governor Glenn Youngkin selected Thomas Murray, co-founder and CEO of MurLarkey Distilled Spirits, for the Virginia Spirits Board earlier this month. Murray's role on the board is poised to elevate the state's spirits landscape, fostering ongoing excellence and innovation in the production and promotion of Virginia-made spirits.
"I am humbled and honored by this appointment, and I am eager to serve the Commonwealth,” says Murray. “The Virginia spirits industry is gaining traction and popularity among aficionados and tourists worldwide, and I look forward to making a meaningful contribution in any way possible."
MurLarkey's dedication to local sourcing and sustainability underscores Murray's commitment to supporting communities and showcasing the unique flavors of Virginia.
"Growing agritourism and agribusiness is part of our overall strategic plan, and I can think of no one more poised to make their mark on statewide growth than our own Tom Murray,” says Christina Winn, executive director of Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism. “MurLarkey has been an excellent local community partner and I want to congratulate him on this regional and industry-wide accomplishment.”
