The Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism (PWCDEDT) won four International Economic Development Council (IEDC) 2024 Excellence Awards.

Every year IEDC looks specifically for economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that have demonstrated consistent, exemplary performance in the economic development profession, leading the execution of projects that have a significant impact on revitalizing communities, and playing a major role in shaping and improving the practice of economic development.

For the population size between 200,000 and 500,000, PWCDEDT won the following awards for Economic Excellence:

"We are absolutely thrilled to announce this year's award winners. These exceptional projects showcase remarkable dedication and ingenuity within the field," said Kevin Kramer, chair of IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards Advisory Committee. “PWCDEDT’s contributions will leave a lasting impact and demonstrate its commitment to creating positive change for its residents.”

Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the world, following a nomination process held earlier this year.

"Our achievements are a direct reflection of the dedication, talent, and hard work of our outstanding team," said Christina Winn, executive director at PWCDEDT. "As we continue to build on these successes, we remain committed to fostering a dynamic economic environment where businesses and residents alike can make their mark."
